    Job Summary

    Working independently and collaboratively with others, this position plays an integral role in executing CRPUD's mission, philosophy, and commitment to providing safe, reliable power to our community and exceptional service to our internal and external customers. All employees are also expected to maintain a high level of trust, integrity, and ethical standards.

    Energy Specialist I

    Promote energy conservation and renewable or alternative energy resources by participating in the design, implementation, and delivery of CRPUD's residential energy efficiency, demand management, and renewable energy programs. Effectively market programs and products to customers and pursue project prospects and leads. Conduct on-site evaluations, audits, and inspections of residential usage to identify renewable energy generation opportunities and solutions, and oversee projects to ensure quality, efficiency, and other program specifications are met.

    Energy Specialist II

    Promote energy conservation and renewable or alternative energy resources by participating in the design, implementation, and delivery of CRPUD's residential, commercial, agricultural, and small manufacturing energy efficiency, demand management, and renewable energy programs. Effectively market programs and products to customers and pursue project prospects and leads. Conduct on-site evaluations, audits, and inspections of residential usage to identify renewable energy generation opportunities and solutions, and oversee projects to ensure quality, efficiency, and other program specifications are met.

    Education and Experience

    Required

    Energy Specialist I

    • Associate's degree in Energy Management or Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Public Administration, Construction Management, Engineering, or other energy related field; or knowledge normally acquired through a four year degree in energy, engineering, or other related field; or four years of combined relevant education and experience in customer service, marketing, sales, construction, and energy related positions.
    • Demonstrated experience in the use of computers and relevant software including report writing, energy analysis and modeling, spreadsheet, database and word processing applications utilizing data collected from engineering reports, energy use monitoring, testing, and schedules of equipment operation.
    • Valid driver's license.

    Energy Specialist II

    • Associate's degree in Energy Management or Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Public Administration, Construction Management, Engineering, or other energy related field and three years of related experience; or knowledge normally acquired through a four year degree in energy, engineering, or other related field and three years' experience; or six years of combined relevant education and experience in customer service, marketing, sales, construction, and energy related positions.
    • Demonstrated experience in the use of computers and relevant software including report writing, energy analysis and modeling, spreadsheet, database and word processing applications utilizing data collected from engineering reports, energy use monitoring, testing, and schedules of equipment operation.
    • Valid driver's license.

    Preferred

    Energy Specialist I

    • Demonstrated proficiency in reading blueprints and relevant technical manuals and references.
    • Demonstrated experience in customer service and sales, residential energy analysis and modeling, residential building science, residential space conditioning equipment including heat pump systems, and other residential energy systems such as lighting, water heating, and renewable power generation systems.
    • Proficient in the use of diagnostic test equipment used for the evaluation of residential structural and energy consuming systems.
    • Relevant certifications including NWPPA Residential Energy Auditor & Inspector or equivalent, PTCS Duct Testing & Sealing, PTCS Heat Pump Controls & Commissioning.

    Energy Specialist II

    • Demonstrated proficiency in reading blueprints and relevant technical manuals and references.
    • Demonstrated experience in customer service and sales, energy analysis and modeling, building science, residential and commercial space conditioning equipment including heat pump systems, and other residential and commercial energy systems such as lighting, water heating, compressed air systems, and renewable power generation systems.
    • Proficient in the use of diagnostic test equipment used for the evaluation of residential structural and energy consuming systems as well as commercial lighting systems.
    • Relevant certifications including NWPPA Residential Energy Auditor & Inspector or equivalent, PTCS Duct Testing & Sealing, PTCS Heat Pump Controls & Commissioning, NCQLP Lighting Credential, Certified Energy Manager, and Compressed Air Challenge, level 1 or equivalent.

    Salary Range

    $27.13 - $43.46 per hour depending on qualifications
